A New Chapter for a Chicago Legacy
From the South Side streets to global streams, Verbally Diseased has always stood for raw, unfiltered hip-hop and community. In 2024, we open a new chapter: Verbally Diseased 3, LLC—the evolution of the movement, passed down to our kids to protect the legacy and push it forward with fresh vision.
Why “3”? Evolution, Not Imitation
Verbally Diseased 3 isn’t a reboot—it’s the natural next step. The original foundation built the sound. The second wave expanded the catalog, merch, and collectors’ editions. Version 3 blends that history with new leadership, tech, and strategy: digital downloads, USB albums, smarter distribution, and label infrastructure that puts artists first.
Leadership Transition: From Founders to Family
To keep the mission authentic and future-proof, the founders are formally transitioning roles to their kids. This is how the Verbally Diseased code—discipline, originality, respect—stays alive.
-
President: Khalif Ali → Rakim Ali
Guiding the brand, culture, and long-term strategy while expanding releases, partnerships, and artist development. -
Secretary: Donnel Sylva → Danielle Jean Lolinda
Operational backbone—documentation, release schedules, rights/clearances, and day-to-day label coordination. -
Vice President: Pedro Diaz → Miyel Diaz
Creative direction, A&R scouting, and cross-collab projects that connect the classic Verbally Diseased sound with the new wave. -
Treasurer: Ravaughn (RaBiez) → Montray Taylor
Financial stewardship—royalties, budgets, merch margins, and reinvestment plans that keep artists paid and projects moving.
The handoff is intentional: elders remain mentors; the new guard leads execution.
